In oil well cementing, an Antifoaming Agent is used to control and eliminate foam generated during slurry mixing and pumping. Excessive foam can trap air, affect slurry density accuracy, and reduce cement integrity. By adding an Antifoaming Agent, air bubbles collapse rapidly, resulting in a more stable and uniform cement slurry. This improves pumpability, rheological stability, and placement efficiency. A well-formulated Antifoaming Agent is compatible with other cementing additives and performs reliably under varying temperature and pressure conditions.

Used within 12 months after production. Once expired, it shall be tested before use.

When air is entrained during mixing, slurry density becomes inaccurate. As shown here, the density difference between cement slurry with and without a defoaming agent can exceed 0.02 g/cm³.
